The following images show my mock-up of what I want to achieve for my promotion pack.
A simple 14cm x 14cm square envelope with a white circle in the middle for the address to be put. At the moment there is also a white rectangle for where the stamp would be placed, however for ease I think this is not needed, the stamp could just be stuck on top of the pattern.
On the reverse, the envelope is held together by a circular sticker. The sticker has my name, profession, telephone number and e-mail on it.
To gain access to the envelope you will have to tear the sticker, or peal it off, however the details are repeated a number of times within the pack.
Once you have opened the pack, the envelope opens up to show a circular booklet and my CV. I should also say the CV will be printed on the reverse of the envelope (it is just plain in the picture)
The booklet contains 11 pages....
1. A tracing paper layer to protect the cover, add interest and a different quality to the piece.
2. The pattern from the envelope and my initials.
3. A page with my name and profession on it.
4. My contact details.
5. First piece of my work.
6. Second piece of my work.
7. Third piece.
8. Fourth piece.
9. Fifth and final piece of my work.
10. A page with my pattern on again, however it will also have my business card slotted into it. I have done this by cutting slits into the patterned paper, therefore allowing the business card to be held in place.
11. A final tracing paper layer. (This material may change when I actually produce it)
Below you can see how the booklet will twist around the pin. Also you can see how the business card is going to be held in place.
I have purchased an eyelet machine which will allow me to make each page of the booklet secure and protect it from tearing as the pages are twisted.
One issue that has occured however is whether or not I need to include information about the 5 pieces of work? I think I do, however, I am unsure where to put the info as I do not what to disturb the images. I could put it on the back of the page, but the booklet is designed to twist, therefore you would not see the back. I am going to produce a final rough version to take to my crit on tuesday where hopefully someone may have a solution!
Another question I want to ask is about colour. At the moment this design (the business cards) have 4 versions, a pink, purple, orange and green. Is this ok or should I look at other colours.
